CHIUDERE ×Premiering at BaselWorld 2010, the World Watch and Jewellery Show, is one of the Rolex company’s latest creations: the Submariner Date 116610 LN, equipped with a ceramic bezel, never seen before on this model in steel, although anticipated last year in Basel with the steel and gold ceramic bezel version. On close inspection of the unidirectional rotatable bezel of the new Submariner Date, one notices the 60-minute platinum graduations and the Cerachrom insert, a very hard ceramic, highly resistant to corrosion and scratches with a colour unaffected by UV rays. Despite this Submariner Date version not having a completely new design, there are some small changes: the 904L steel case 40mm in diameter, the robust Oyster bracelet with Rolex Glidelock clasp, waterproofness to 300 metres. The dial is black with luminescent Chromalight hands and large circle hour markers, previously reserved for the green bezel. The watch has a COSC certified self-winding 3135 calibre movement . A must-have not only for Rolex enthusiasts, already familiar with the innate class of the Swiss company, but also all admirers of haute horlogerie that meets revolutionary design. The Submariner Date 116610 LN promotional image featuring the watch suspended in air amidst droplets of water shows how a watch created more than 50 years ago can continue to be a legend, because, as Rolex maintains, the “power of seduction is never out of style”. |
